12 weeks! SO FAST!

Over the past 12 weeks we have learned many things, like why is technology important, how it has changed in the last 5 years, and many others, well to answer those, technology is important because it is used to make up most of everything, such as phones, computers, and to work. With Things we use daily today, if we didn’t have technology what we already have wouldn’t work, and we wouldn’t have the things we love to use today. Also technology improves our government and helps with things like family across the world, and the military. The last five years have been different than today. Back then we had things like “MySpace” and “Paint” now we have “Facebook” and “Photoshop” which are improvements of the things we had before. Over the next five years I think things will only keep getting greater with websites and programs.
The technology we use in school is different than the things we use at home. In school I know that we use things to help our learning ability, when at home it’s pretty much nothing more than “Facebook”, “Twitter”, and others. Most kids when using technology in school they are on a computer and typing about educational things, they don’t text of the computer, they don’t look at pictures or anything else. When at home most kids use their smart phone and do nothing educational, because they do it all in school.
In the future I know that I will continue to use my blog not even make a new one, keep the same one and now use it for myself because it’s such a cool thing to have. I think the one thing most people will use again is the blog and the photo editing websites and programs we used. I don’t think that anyone will use the Blabberize again only because everyone did not like having to talk out loud and record. My favorite thing to make would have been the blog in the first place, the cartoons, and the voki. All three things were so cool and you could make them your own.  In all honesty there wasn’t one thing I didn’t like doing, everything we created I loved and enjoyed, I always went home and showed my mom how I made it and that it was my favorite thing doing in school.

Tracking Teresa

After watching "Tracking Teresa" I found out that it can be really easy to find out information about someone online. Teresa didn’t put any personal information online that can easily track her, but she did put her phone number and what time she would be home to call the number. With just that little bit of information we were able to find out where she lives her family members name and where she goes to school, along with more information. I have put personal stuff on the internet which now worries me that I can be hunted down by some weirdo. I will change it all to where no one can find out any serious information about me. One of the most important things to do when putting up a profile on the internet is to never put out any information that is easily traceable to where you are and that reveals anything about you.

After watching another video about sending photos, the  video shows that once you send a inappropriate photo to someone else that it is out of your control on who else see's it from now on. Adults can see it, friends, family, and even old guys who will be creepy and try things. I know gross right! When sending a photo you know that when you send it or post it that is a good picture that no one can make fun of you for or can black mail you with. Just a simple picture of you smiling with friends is good and can keep you safe from embarrassment and most of the time creepy weirdoes.

Cyber Bullying

The movie about her life dealing with cyber bullying not only showed me how things really worked with cyber bullying online, but also showed that you can always over come it. I thought the movie was a good learning movie because its not just straight information after information its a documentary so it keep a lot of people wanting to know what happens next while learning how to deal with online bullying and seeing how it happens. A lot of things stuck out to me in how we learned a lot of the things that Taylor was told not to do and how to resolve it in our class. Tings like "Do not become the bully yourself." And "Print it out and tell and adult." Those are the three most common things everyone should know. Also if you are being bullied speak up don't just stop after you tell an adult and its still happening. keep speaking up. Because even though your online and not face to face to the person, it can still hurt them in a lot of ways. The victim can suffer from depression, physical problems like headache and sickness, and even suicidal thought. a lot of kids have been found dead because of other people deciding to be rude and mean, and other just join in thinking there is nothing wrong with calling someone a name or spreading rummer. A rummer is just a lie. We all know we are not supposed to lie. So why do bullies continue to spread rummer's? The best thing you can do is speak up and tell someone print it out and call attention to it.

The meaning of Netiquette

Netiquette is the rules to behaving online. you need to be respectful and polite even when you feel like the person your talking to does not deserve your kindness. If you decide to be rude to someone online it not only affects the other person feeling wise, but what you but online out there for the world to see can affect you too in the long run. It can come back to haunt you and you will regret it. A good example of using Netiquette correctly is when you see on Facebook or any other website, that someone is getting bullied, you either tell an adult or tell the bully that they are not being nice and that everyone in the situation should just calm down. An example of poor Netiquette is seeing someone being hurt and not saying anything or being the bully yourself. its not something to be proud of t=it can hurt more then just one other person including yourself.

Copyrihgt

To me copy right is something that everyone takes very serious now a days. Most people don’t really think that if they find a picture on the internet that they can just clam is as their own without having to do anything but copy and paste. After reading an article i have realized that there is only one way that you can use something for yourself that is not yours. You must as permission and site your source. I know it seems like a lot to ask someone if you can use their song or if you can use a photo they took that you love so much. You must as if you can use it because it is against the law to do that.

My Country

So I know this might sound weird but I have this weird obsession with anything do to with the United Kingdom! I know weird right? well in school we had to do a project about a country and i of course picked England! I had so much fun with this project. My favorite part was getting to pick the places we wanted to visit. i already knew a few places because i am a freak about it, but i loved seeing new places like the "Alexandra Palace", which is best known for London's warp tour. It was kinda hard to find out history about the United Kingdom though, just because every website i went to had different information or had nothing to do with England at all. I loved getting to show the class about this country , because again im in love with it! mostly because of its music background and the place itself. i think the strongest point for me in this project was showing my visiting places. When showing the places i wanted to visit i had so much fun because i wanted to talk about it, i wanted to go there and i want to see everything there.

Socail Bookmarking

For me "Social Booking" is one of the greatest things invented. This way not only can I share things with people but I can find things that I never thought I could. I can find new things that I will enjoy on my everyday life. Things like different sports websites, different music websites, and different gaming websites. Another reason I enjoy "Social Bookmarking" is because I believe it will help me in my school work to. With educational tags I can find stuff to help me with my school work sooner and faster than I would just typing in two words to "Google" or "Bing".
